It's funny but I still think I like the first set better than the second as far as energy is concerned. At the show, I remember thinking that the first set was great and so were the first couple of songs in the second set. Unfortunately for me, I felt that the energy began to lag a little after If The Shoe Fits. Don't get me wrong, I love the songs but it seems to me that the energy drops. The next night was the best of the run.

my first cold rain and snow
flew down from spokane on a solo mission to attend my first bay area shows. my girlfriend at the time lived in oakland and her family let me crash there (they were deadheads but were out of town). i had tickets for the second and third shows of the run and found a ticket for the first show without a problem. When the first notes of CRS started I was psyched to hear one of my favorites. I have a couple of memories from that show: a kick ass victim that really got me liking that song, and hanging out with this dude from north carolina that passed out in the lot after a giant hit of a no2 balloon. as he inhaled, his eyes rolled back and he staggered backwards across the road and slammed into a VW bug parked nearby. I was a little freaked but after a minute he came to and said "that's the second time that's happened to me with a volkswagen"

This was the LAST Dead Show I attended (before Jerry Died...I returned to Shoreline to see "The Dead" in '04 but it wasn't the same). I distinctly remember this show as I had a very religious experience during the show (1/8 of bad shrooms scored in the parking lot) and I remember coming out of it right before the encore of Liberty and standing up and dancing and being thankful to be alive. It was nice to finally hear the songs that I "missed" whilst trying to hang-on through the trip.
Once again, thanks for this particular set. It has special meaning to me.

good clean sound with a happy ending
I saw about 10 shows starting in 89 and other than my first one this was the best. 94 was the year I followed phish from santa fe to laguna seca to red rocks and they were really making good sounds but what was the dead doing? It was so good that I didn't need to go to the next two. I was stunned. it was this show that made me realize the grateful dead concert was beyond comparison. at least untill I went to It.

Good audience recording, but there are certainly better shows from '94...
The other reviewer has made me grateful for the mere fact that I have mastered basic spelling and grammar skills. Jerry on.
